Celebrating the Holiday Season at T&T
Dear T&T Family,
Recently, I’ve been saying one word over and over again: talent. As we continue to grow, it’s clear that our people are at the heart of what we’re building.
When you first joined T&T, you might not have imagined how far this journey could take you. Today, T&T is one of the fastest-growing retailers in North America. In 2026 alone, we’re opening 6 new stores! That momentum will translate into hundreds of leadership opportunities that will open up over the next few years.
To support this growth, we’re looking to send Canadian passport holders to work in the U.S. as part of our secondment program. We’re looking for Department Heads and Assistant Department Heads who can help open stores, train teams, and set our new stores up for success.
If you’re open to trying something new, this is a chance to grow your career in a meaningful way. We know moving is a big decision, which is why we offer strong financial support, including housing allowances, enhanced compensation, and benefits. It’s also a great path for the kids to go to American universities, plus the bonus of great weather.
Our team members who have already gone to the U.S. have gained invaluable experience over the past 24 months—experience that now gives them more flexibility and opportunity than ever before, across both countries. They’re helping write T&T history and shaping what Asian grocery retail looks like in North America.
Even if you aren’t in a DH or ADH position, know that this is part of T&T’s growth plan, and I encourage you to keep this in mind as you continue your T&T journey.
This next chapter will define us. We are bringing a whole new concept to Asian Americans who have not had the opportunity to experience all that T&T has to offer. I hope you’ll consider helping us write history. If you’re ready for an adventure of a lifetime, please speak with your supervisor and watch for upcoming postings at https://www.tntsupermarket.com/eng/joinus/jobs/category

A genuine confession
(ER Support Centre) Central Operations Dept.
As the new year begins, let's reflect on the past, draw inspiration for the future and evaluate whether we've continued to grow professionally in our work.
The supermarket industry is labour-intensive and heavily reliant on teamwork. To ensure work runs smoothly and performance goals are met, constant communication and collaboration are key. The real question is whether you've been honest in your communication. In other words, have you expressed your true thoughts?
Everyone expresses themselves differently, but one thing we can all agree on is the importance of speaking the truth for clearer and more effective communication. Of course, telling the truth doesn't mean disregarding other's feelings. Timing, setting and approach should be considered to ensure the truth is heard.
Managing expert Kim Scott's "Radical Candor" emphasizes balancing personal care with direct challenge. In practice, this means addressing issues openly, avoiding behind-the-back complaints, and addressing problems clearly and with good intentions, while setting expectations for collaboration and action.
In the new year, let's make every conversation an opportunity for sincere and honest exchange.
Inventory isn't just numbers, but a reflection of our customers' trust
(Woodbine store) Store Admin Dept. Sandy Shan
At T&T, we always say, "Inventory isn't just numbers, but a reflection of our customers' trust."
At the Woodbine store, our Inventory Supervisor Leia starts each morning not with reports on her computer, but by walking the sales floor and backroom with a scanner in hand checking each product. She often says, "I'm not checking numbers, I'm making sure customers can find what they're looking for."
During the Mid-Autumn Festival promotion, the preorders for a particular mooncake was especially high, but system inventory showed discrepancies. To avoid affecting holiday sales and the customer experience, Leia took the initiative to go to the backroom, unload the mooncakes from the pallets, and recounted them one by one. She discovered an entire case of mooncakes had been misplaced in the baking supplies area, hidden behind other items. Due to her attention to detail, professionalism and sense of responsibility, she prevented a potential sales risk and ensured customer satisfaction.

Many people find inventory work tiring and monotonous, but Leia never complains. She often says, "I'm not just managing inventory, I'm making everyone's work smoother." Through her commitment, she brings order to the products, instills confidence in customers, and turns this seemingly ordinary job into something warm and fulfilling.

The line between responsibility and safety
Asset Protection Dept.
During a routine shift, Cashier Department's Employee E noticed a suspicious individual taking a number of ready-to-eat food items and attempting to leave the store without paying. Employee E asked them to return to the checkout and pay, but this individual refused and tried to leave forcibly. Driven by a sense of responsibility for the company's assets, Employee E attempted to physically block their path. The individual lost control, threw a food item at Employee E's face and quickly fled. Fortunately, aside from broken glasses and minor scratches, Employee E was not seriously injured.
Employee E demonstrated a strong sense of responsibility and commitment to protecting company assets and deserves commendation. However, their attempt to physically block the suspect is in violation of company safety policy and posed a safety risk to themselves, customers, and colleagues. The safety and well-being of our employees and customers remain T&T's top priority.
To address this, the Asset Protection Department officially implemented the "Non-contact Policy for Handling Store Thefts" last year, which clearly outlines the correct procedure for handling suspected shoplifters. We would like to remind all employees to strictly adhere to company safety guidelines under all circumstances, and refrain from any physical interaction with suspected shoplifters to ensure the safety of yourself and others.
