親愛的夥伴們:


終於官宣了!一週前(6/8)我們正式宣佈:T&T將向南跨過邊界,進軍美國!第一家店將於明年夏天在華盛頓州西雅圖貝爾維尤市(Bellevue)的Marketplace at Factoria開業。新店佔地76,000平方呎,是T&T的旗艦店,也將成為華盛頓州最大的亞洲超市。



這真是令人歡欣鼓舞的一週!消息一經宣佈,我們在加拿大的客人都感到自豪,紛紛為T&T加油點讚,並四處奔相走告。網路上看到許多加拿大人興奮地和美國親友群聊,說T&T到底有什麼不同、為什麼比美國的亞洲超市好,大家都引以為傲。


尤其西雅圖的大片社區可高興壞了,反應更是熱烈。看到一位張先生就說,好幾年前他住在多倫多,後來因工作關係搬到西雅圖,最想念的東西之一就是T&T。他說像T&T這樣的超市在西雅圖根本沒有,一定會帶來很多的改變和進步。



新店所在的購物中心也開心歡迎我們,說T&T是他們在全球範圍內找到的一流零售商,一定會帶進去生活服務和餐飲體驗的新風貌。最歡迎我們的就是貝爾維尤的市長了,她說,T&T不但會帶去充滿活力的飲食文化,還會在當地創造300多個工作機會。



看到這裡,相信你一定也會以T&T為榮。在此我要謝謝我們的團隊,我們的大家庭,感謝有你,讓我們可以一起走到這一步,這種感覺真的是太棒了。我們不會讓信任T&T的加拿大人失望,更不會讓期待T&T的美國社區失望!



其實前進美國,國情不同、法規不同、供應鏈不同,連標價都從加幣變成了美元……雖然不容易,但卻是最有價值的挑戰。原來我們只能靜靜地做、小聲地說,現在官宣了,我們要開始高歌猛進,帶著加拿大人的自豪,一起為T&T開啟完美的新篇章!

豆芽成長記


想種出胖豆芽,就要在它生長時壓一壓,讓它吸收更多水份。人也一樣,有壓力才會成就更完全的人﹗CT店中,無論在外場BBQ還是在廚房內場,即使面對多大壓力,都會看到一個大男人從早到黃昏的忙碌身影,他就是Roy。


Roy入職時只是一個廚房的普通員工,通過努力學習和鑽研,發明了獨門斬燒味的技巧,刀法精湛,員工和顧客看到都十分欣賞。他深知工欲善其事,必先利其器的道理,每天一到店就磨利刀子和檢查爐頭,做事精細和有條理。擁有不少獨門秘技的他不止不藏私,還暖心地自製訓練新員工的秘笈,使新員工可以更快學習及適應,真是非常關心部屬的未來。



除了教育新員工及處理日常工作,他每天還主動幫忙收貨、整理及維修等,同仁求助時也永不推塘!任何分店人手不足時,他都會積極配合專員安排,跨店支援,幫忙解決困難,完美發揮勇於承擔和互相合作的團隊精神。


感謝Roy這顆豆芽一直無私付出,我們為CT有這個得力好幫手感到自豪!

你們就是我們的No.1﹗


我在人力資源部 (HR) 主要負責薪酬福利和系統兩方面的工作,在此很想和大家分享大統華「顧客至上」這個價值觀。可能有同事會問:「HR的顧客是誰呢?」其實我們的顧客就是大統華的所有同事,無論是在職的,還是已離職的大統華員工,都是我們的顧客。


大家應該收過支付薪酬聲明 (簡稱T4單) 吧。在職同事可以在UKG系統上下載自己的T4單,但已離職的同事因已沒有UKG帳號,所以需要由HR同事把T4單郵寄到他們的家。


由於離職同事可能會搬家或改地址,因此HR每年12月都會發電子郵件給這些已離職的同事,提醒他們如果離職後有地址變更的情況,請告訴我們新的地址。今年我們收到的回覆量和過去一樣驚人,共有200多封。理論上,當員工已經離職,前公司只要確保T4單有寄出便可以。可是,HR payroll同事Annie、Margaret和Mandy Pan秉持著認真負責的態度,收到回覆後把新地址逐條輸入到系統中,並加以核對,確保同事即使已經離職仍可收到T4單,不影響他們報稅。



所以呢,所有同事都是HR的顧客,都是我們的No.1。你們的需求,就是我們的需求。我們會盡力做到最好,因為你們都是公司最寶貴的財富。大統華有你們,真好!

衝動是魔鬼 有話好好説


之前HR曾經分享過工作場所謾駡、揮舞刀具、甚至動手打架的故事,提醒大家「衝動是魔鬼」,「有話好好說」。但是很遺憾,類似的事件還是在不同的分店發生,僅僅因為一言不合或在工作中有爭議,就有同事駡人、推人、踢人、打人,或者是拿起水杯、掃把作勢要攻擊別人,要不就是把手中正在使用的紙箱扔向別人……


我們對這樣的暴力行為零容忍,因爲公司承諾提供一個健康安全、無暴力的工作場所給所有員工,絕不能讓同事們置身於一個有暴力威脅的環境中。


互助合作、以人爲本、謙卑有禮貌、樂在工作開心生活,這些都是我們的文化和價值觀,但是,總有個別同事在怒氣爆發的時候,就會失去理智、不管不顧,任性妄為。請大家切記,在工作場所如果有任何矛盾糾紛是你不能解決的,不要駡人,更不能動手打人,請立刻去找你的上司幫你處理。如果感覺脾氣上湧或情緒激動,請先做個深呼吸,冷靜下來,想想你應該如何做到有話好好說,不然就先暫停無效溝通,或是去找主管幫忙。總之,千萬不要一時衝動做出害人害己、後悔莫及的事情。

Expanding Horizons and Fostering Canadian Pride

It’s finally official! T&T is expanding its reach beyond the Canadian borders, and venturing into the United States!



Our first store will open Summer of 2024 in Bellevue, Washington in the Marketplace at Factoria. At 76,000 square feet, it will be the largest Asian supermarket in the state, and a flagship store for T&T.


This expansion marks a significant milestone in our journey as a company. We have grown tremendously since our humble beginnings, thanks to the dedication, passion, and hard work of each and every one of you. It is your relentless commitment to providing exceptional customer service and upholding our core values that has paved the way for this remarkable opportunity.



What fills me with immense pride is not just our expansion itself, but the impact it has already had on our beloved customers and fellow Canadians. As we announced this new chapter, I have noticed the extraordinary support and enthusiasm from our Canadian customers online. They have taken the time to engage with their American friends and acquaintances, patiently explaining the unique concept and essence of T&T Supermarkets. It warms my heart to see how Canadians are cheering for us, and helping spread the word, ensuring our vision resonates with our new American customers.



This outpour of Canadian pride serves as a testament to the incredible bond we share with our community. It is a reminder of the trust and expectations placed upon us, urging us to continue to deliver excellence at every touchpoint.


We owe it to our customers, our fellow Canadians, and most importantly, to ourselves, to ensure that T&T launches successfully across the border.


I also hope you take pride in this moment. We have an incredible team, a family, that I know will rise to any challenge and exceed expectations. Let’s embrace this opportunity with enthusiasm and make Canadians proud.

The growth of a bean sprout


To grow thick bean sprouts, you have to apply pressure for it to absorb more water. The same can be said for humans, who experiences growth under pressure. At the CT store, whether in the BBQ area or kitchen inside, you could see a man bustling about all day regardless of the pressure he is facing. That man is Roy.


When Roy first joined, he was a kitchen associate. Through diligent studying and research, he invented a method of chopping barbecue meats with his stellar knife skills, gaining the appreciation of both employees and customers. To do good work with the best tools, the first thing he does when he arrives is sharpen his knives and check the stoves, always working meticulously. He does not keep his skills to himself. He cares about his subordinates' future and developed special training to help them learned and adapt faster.



Besides training new employees and completing his daily tasks, he also volunteers to help with repairs, receive goods and tidy up every day. When his colleagues ask for help, he never refuses. Whenever another store is understaffed, he will actively cooperate with arrangements made and provide cross-store support which perfectly display his accountability and the team spirit of helping one another.

You are our No.1!


In HR Department, I am primarily responsible for employee benefits and compensation, as well as the HRIS system. Here I would like to share about our value of “Customer is No.1”. Some colleagues may wonder, who are the HR's customers? Our customers actually include all our current and former T&T employees.


Everyone should have received their T4 slips. Current employees can download their own slips through the UKG system, but since former colleagues no longer have an UKG account, they need our HR colleagues to mail their T4 slips to their homes.


Since former colleagues may move or change address, HR sends out an email every December to remind them to notify us of any changes. This year, as usual, the number of responses received has been quite large, we received around 200 letters. Theoretically, when an employee leaves a company, the former company only needs to ensure the T4 slip has been sent out. But when our HR colleagues Annie, Margaret, and Mandy Pan receive new addresses, they will verify seriously and input new addresses into the system one by one to ensure all former employees will receive their T4 slips to file their taxes.



Every employee is HR’s customer and our no.1. Your needs are our needs. We will strive for our best because you are the company's most valuable asset. It is great to have you here at T&T!

Impulsiveness is the devil. Always talk things out


HR previously shared stories of employees hurling insults, waving knives around, and even fighting, in a bid to remind everyone not to act impulsively and to always talk things out. Unfortunately, similar incidents are still happening at various stores. Simply because of a small disagreement, employees have yelled at, pushed, kicked and hit one another. Someone even grabbed a cup and a broom threatening to attack, and in one case, threw a cardboard box they were holding at someone.


We have zero tolerance towards these acts of violence. The company has promised to provide a healthy, safe and violence-free workplace for all employees, we will not allow our colleagues to be exposed to an environment where any threats of violence exists.


Helping one another, being people-oriented, humble and courteous, and work-life happy are all part of our culture and values. Yet there are always individual employees who will lose control of their temper when they are angry, and will act recklessly. Please keep in mind, if any conflicts or disputes occur at work that you cannot resolve, please refrain from yelling at or hitting someone, and immediately report this to your superior for assistance. If you feel your anger rising, please first take a deep breath, calm down, and think about how you can resolve the matter with your words. Otherwise, end the ineffective communication, or find your supervisor for assistance. In short, never act impulsively and do something that you will regret, and that may harm yourself and others.
