萬一有壓力想辭職,請先和主管談一談。


我們同事的離職率,是同行中最低的之一,平均服務年資長達10年。雖然如此,偶而還是會有人因工作上有壓力,以為換一個新工作就可以緩解,而在主管毫不知情的情況下,就貿然遞出辭職信。由於沒有開誠布公事先溝通,常常變得無法挽回。


每個人都難免會有心情上的起起伏伏,有時開心,偶而沮喪,重要的是要管理好自己的壓力。其實,壓力是成長的開始,有壓力是正常的,能激勵自己表現得更好、做事更有成效,甚至能因而步步高升,讓生活更充實。


但如壓力已來到臨界點,影響到工作和生活,那就應該勇敢地健康面對。我們華人通常有壓力就藏在心裡自己頂著,不想讓別人知道,甚至都不跟自己的老公、老婆或家人說,只憋在肚子裡,這樣總有一天會揹不動。


我的建議是,就算有壓力,也無須輕言辭職,應先打開對話的大門,跟主管談一談——哪怕壓力正是來自你的主管。因為主管看到的會比你多,也許能幫你調整下一步。就曾有一位同事因要搬家到亞省而辭職,主管知道了,說,我們在亞省也有店呀,結果公司甚至付了搬家費。

過去這幾年,我也收到過好多次這種突然放在我桌上嚇人一跳的辭職信。我非常遺憾,因為如果能先找我談一談,情況可能早已改變。但由於沒有先打開對話的大門,將壓力一直憋在自己心裡太久太久了,心已經不在工作上,決心已下,心已經走了,我只得接受。

敬業的趙哥


收銀部有一位趙哥,他總是任勞任怨,埋頭苦幹,面對困難永不服輸,工作永不放鬆。


可愛的他總以飽滿的工作熱情,迎接每一天。在炎炎烈日下,他認真地修補購物車;在發現店裏有些購物車或購物籃已經磨損老舊時,他主動申請給購物車補漆、換把手和換輪子,讓顧客有更好的購物體驗。

除了做好本職工作,他眼裏總能看到活。勇於承擔各項工作,尊重別人的專業,謙心學習。只要看到店裏有需要維修而自己又可以修復的東西,他都會主動修理。 每到節慶日,店裏需要裝飾掛牌的時候,總能看到爬上梯子的趙哥。就是這樣,他總會主動幫忙承擔起一些力所能及的工作。雖然這一切並非驚心動魄的壯舉,但這些都是趙哥默默的奉獻和兢兢業業的耕耘。


時光不會辜負每一位善待它的人,公司也不會忘記每一位努力的員工。 趙哥做事認真仔細,積極向上和不計較的心態,讓他被評為分店優秀員工第一名。感恩趙哥的付出,你是值得我們學習的榜樣。

我們的理念是創新求變!


過去一年健康和美容專區(HABA)的業績有很大的提升,這都是因為HABA一直秉持著創新求變的精神,12期活動主題都圍繞著「主題新,產品新,贈品新」而展開。


櫻花是春天的符號,因此我們在春季引進了最新的特定櫻花系列產品,以限時訂購的形式推出,讓消費者更加期待。母親節期間,我們一改送康乃馨的傳統,改以鬱金香為主題,為媽媽獻上禮物。在7、8月的水果季節,我們選了鮮嫩多汁的水蜜桃,設計出「桃你歡心」主題,並為配合主題,又選擇了各種最新款、帶水蜜桃氣味的產品,讓顧客「桃氣一夏天」。

另外,根據大受歡迎的綜藝節目《乘風破浪的姐姐》,我們設計出以「乘風破浪,活出自己最美的樣子」為主題的活動,搭配同樣以「鼓勵女性打破限制」為理念的內衣品牌Ubras作爲主打產品,獲得了熱烈的迴響。


所謂「知常明變者贏,守正創新者進」,希望新的一年,我們能堅定著創新求變的開放態度,為大家帶來更多的驚喜!

偽造文書絕不可取


有一名員工,時不時會請病假,也會提供醫生證明。但很奇怪的是,他交的醫生證明在日期處有塗改,而且不止一次,經過公司向診所確認,醫生從來沒有開過相關證明。


另一名員工,也是經常請病假,他提供的是醫院急診室的醫生證明,但是好多張不同醫生的證明,筆跡卻都一樣,也沒有蓋章,經過公司向醫院確認,這些都是假的醫生證明。


這是過去一年在不同分店發生的遺憾的故事,這兩名員工都被解雇了,因爲偽造醫生證明是很嚴重的違反誠信的行爲,提供虛假文件甚至會構成罪行。最近有則新聞說一名成年女子為了入讀高中,向教育局提供虛假的出生證明,因此被指控犯罪而被捕,大家可以看到偽造文書是多麽嚴重的問題,所以千萬要引以爲戒,杜絕造假。公司保留權利向相關機構核實員工提交文件的真實性,並且不容忍任何造假行為。

Open Up for Conversation Before Deciding on the Career Change


I’m proud to share our turnover is one of the lowest and the average year of service is 10 years, making us a company with the longest tenure in the industry. Nevertheless, any job can have stressful elements, even if you are passionate about what you do. You might even think about changing careers. If the thought crosses your mind, open all doors for conversation and never underestimate a company that will listen, recognize, and promote changes.


Everyone has their own ups and downs in life, sometimes feeling blessed while sometimes unfortunately not, so managing stress is crucial. Going through stress is nothing big but a kick-off of growing up, it motivates people to outperform and work more productively so that their hard work will be easily seen, and it helps them climb up the ladder toward success.

Never keep mum when your stress level reaches a red flag and harms your work and daily life. Chinese tend to self-isolate and avoid embarrassing conversations when encountering stress. Some may even hide their troubles from their husbands, wives, and family members. Carrying all the heavy burdens alone and letting no one take them off their backs will eventually lead to overload.


But here’s my advice, open the door for conversations and talk to your supervisor before quitting the job. Even if the source of stress is right from your supervisor, make sure to have a heart-to-heart sharing with your supervisor or even HR first. They see what you can’t and are able to help debilitate your stress or give you the space and tools to handle that stress with adjustments. One of our T&T employees once handed in a resignation letter only because of the relocation plan to Alberta. “Hey, we also have stores in Alberta,” said the supervisor. We ended up covering the moving fees for this employee.


Over the years, I have been shocked to receive a few sudden and surprising resignation letters. I feel so much regret as things might have changed if they had ever turned to me. I feel so much regret as they kept the stress inside and have gone through heartaches for so long, long enough to the point they could no longer bear the stress. I had no option but to let them go as we both missed the chance to turn the tide before the moment of decision. I had to accept it since the stress had already moved them far away from productivity and T&T.


Open the door for conversations before you quit. Even if you still decide to leave after conversations, at least you feel much more at ease. T&T values every single ambitious employee devoting efforts and making contributions to the company and it’s beyond doubt including you! The dedicated Zhao

Zhao from the Cashier's Department never complains, always works hard, and never gives up when faced with a challenge.


Zhao welcomes each work day with enthusiasm. He worked hard to repair shopping carts under the scorching sun; when he discovered that some shopping carts and baskets in the store were falling apart, he volunteered to repaint them and replace the handles and wheels to improve customer’s overall shopping experience.

Besides doing his job, he has the courage to undertake various tasks, respects the expertise of others and is a humble learner. If he sees anything in the store that needs to be repaired and is something he can do, he will voluntarily repair them. During any festivities when we need to put up decor and signs, you will always find Zhao up on a ladder. He will always take the initiative to help take on any work that can be done within his abilities. These may not seem to be remarkable achievements, but they are the results of Zhao's silent dedication and hard work.


Zhao works hard and is detail-oriented, he is ambitious and has an easygoing attitude that has led him to become the store's most outstanding employee. We are grateful for Zhao's contributions. You are truly a role model for us to learn from.

Our philosophy is embracing innovation and change


Over the last year, HABA's performance has improved exponentially as a result of adhering to the spirit of innovation and change. The theme of the 12 events always centered around "new theme, new products, and new gifts"


Cherry blossoms are a symbol of spring, which is why we launched selected products of the newest cherry blossom line in spring as a limited time offer to heighten consumer's anticipation. During Mother's Day, we changed up our tradition of giving carnations to gifting mothers' tulips. During the fruit season in July and August, we selected fresh, juicy peaches for our theme, and chose a variety of new peach scented products to go with the theme.

We also designed an event with a theme based on the hit variety show Sisters Who Makes Waves, using Ubras - an underwear brand whose philosophy is also to empower women to break their limits - as the event's main product, resulting in an enthusiastic response.


I hope that we can continue to embrace innovation and change in the new year and bring everyone more surprises!

Falsification of documents is inadvisable


There was an employee who would take sick leave from time to time with doctor's notes. What’s strange is that the date on the doctor's notes had clearly been altered, and it happened more than one time. After reaching out to the clinic, they confirmed the doctor never issued these notes.


Another employee who also often took sick leave with doctor’s notes from a hospital's ER, the handwriting on the notes from different doctors were the same and not stamped. After investigating, the hospital confirmed these doctor notes were all fake.


These unfortunate incidents happened last year at different stores. The two employees have since been let go, because forging a doctor's note is a serious breach of integrity. Submitting falsified documents could even constitute a crime. Recently, a woman made the news after submitting a fake birth certificate to the school board in order to study at a high school. She was charged and arrested. This goes to show the gravity of forging and falsifying documents. We should use this as a precautionary tale. The company reserves the right to verify with relevant agencies the authenticity of any documents submitted by employees, and will not tolerate the falsification of documents.
