千里馬


世有伯樂,然後有千里馬。千里馬常有,而伯樂卻不常有。Frankie是一位肉部主管,他爲人親切、熱心,常常關心部屬的未來,Anthony就是他發掘到的千里馬。


Anthony初到加拿大的第一份工作,就是擔任大統華的肉部助理。在這之前,他完全沒有關於切肉的知識和技能,連各種肉類都無法區分。幸好他有一顆熱誠、勇於學習的心,讓同事們都樂於指導他。


相處期間,Frankie發現這個新來的小伙子,漂洋過海到國外來生活,沒有親友的陪伴,難免在從零開始的過程中,感到迷茫和無助。於是,Frankie和其他同事一起熱心地幫助Anthony找房子、搬家和申請各類證件。

明白到Anthony正在面對語言和文化差異,Frankie每天都會在工作上對Anthony加以鼓勵,幫助他盡快熟悉新環境。而Anthony做事認真負責、上進、樂於接受新知識的態度,都被Frankie看在眼裏。看到他的潛力,Frankie決定給他更多學習和晉升的機會。


世間駿馬千萬,相信有Frankie這位獨具慧眼的伯樂,定能為大統華的大家庭帶來更多良駒,培養出更多像Anthony一樣能日行千里的駿馬。

營造零騷擾的工作環境


公司致力於提供一個沒有歧視、暴力、欺凌及騷擾的工作場所,同事也應互相尊重。


近期公司收到了幾宗關於騷擾的投訴,這些行爲包括:在下班後滯留在工作場所干擾其他正在上班的同事;拉住另外一位同事的手腕及手臂做為友善邀請的動作;因為覺得自己和其他同事關係親近而拍對方肩膀或其他部位。可是,因為雙方感覺不同,這些舉動不是誰都能接受,有可能會給其他同事造成困擾,甚至認為自己被騷擾。


公司的「工作場所歧視、暴力、欺凌及騷擾政策」規定,騷擾包括不恰當的行為、評論、表現、動作或姿勢。經調查與訪談後,公司對於不論有意或無意冒犯騷擾他人的同事,都會給予紀律處分或行為規範的教導,以提高同事們的意識。


同事們應謹記:任何會對其他同事的精神或身體健康構成有害影響的不當行為,都會被視為騷擾。同時,公司「樂在工作,開心生活」的價值觀,包括了讓所有同事在工作時感到舒適、健康和安全。因此,所有人都有責任一起遵守尊重與包容的行為準則,營造零騷擾的工作環境。

Discovery of the swift horse

There is a saying that swift horses (talents) are easy to find, but not many people are wise enough to spot them. Frankie is a Meat Department Head. He is nice, passionate, and always care for the future of his colleagues. Anthony is the hidden talent discovered by Frankie.


Anthony first worked as a Meat Associate in T&T after he arrived in Canada. Before that, He had no knowledge or skills in meat cutting and couldn’t differentiate different meat parts. Fortunately, with his passion, courage and desire to learn, his colleagues are all happy to guide him along the way.


When Frankie realized this young kid does not have any family or friends here and may feel lost and helpless having to start all over, Frankie and some colleagues joined together and help Anthony find a home, settle down and apply for various documents.

Furthermore, knowing Anthony is faced with a language barrier and cultural differences, Frankie would encourage Anthony at work every day to help him quickly adapt to his new surroundings. Anthony's strong work ethic and willingness to learn were not lost on Frankie. Seeing his potential, Frankie decided to give Anthony more opportunities to learn and advance in the company.


Frankie's discerning eye for talent will undoubtedly help T&T discover and nurture many more talented individuals like Anthony, who has become a great asset to T&T.

Creating a harassment-free work environment


Our company is committed to creating a workplace without discrimination, violence, bullying and harassment, where colleagues are expected to respect one another.


We recently received several complaints about harassment. These incidents involve employees who remained after work and interfered with the work of on-shift colleagues, holding onto another colleague's wrist and arm as a friendly invitation, or tapping someone's shoulder or other body parts because they thought they had a close relationship. Oftentimes these actions can be interpreted very differently, and can cause distress, or even feel like harassment by the other party.


The company's “Workplace Discrimination, Violence, Bullying and Harassment Policy” states that harassment includes inappropriate conduct, comments, display, actions or gestures. No matter it is with intention or not, after investigating and conducting interviews, the company would take disciplinary actions or re-educated related employees to raise awareness of this important issue.


We hope everyone remembers that any inappropriate action that may have a detrimental effect on the mental or physical health of their colleagues will be viewed as harassment. At the same time, the company's values of "Work-Life Happy", includes allowing all employees to feel comfortable, healthy and safe while they work, which is why each and every person has the responsibility to follow the code of conduct of respect and inclusion to create a harassment-free work environment.
