擁抱2024年的新機遇!


親愛的夥伴們,

 

新年快樂!

 


新一年的開始,總是令人興奮,同時也是一個好時機,讓我們聚焦今年的目標。對大統華來說,今年比以往任何一年都更加關鍵,在此我要與大家分享2024年我們最重要的兩大目標:

 


1.  在美國成功開出第一家新店,並為開出更多分店做好準備

這是我們2024年最重要的里程碑之一。這不僅僅是我們的擴張計劃,更是我們為顧客創造價值以及大家為大統華盡心付出的證明。第一家新店位於華盛頓州的貝爾維尤,標誌著我們進軍美國的起點。大家已在籌備這個計畫上付出了巨大的心血,包括建立美國團隊、設計店面空間、確保基礎設施、流程和程序的順利運作。這是一個絕佳的機會,能讓我們在一個全新的舞台上,展示已深受加拿大顧客喜愛的獨特購物體驗。

 

2.  積極搶占加國市場份額

回頭看加拿大國內,我們仍會聚焦服務更多社區,傳遞美食之樂。今年我們會在加東新開4家新店,包括Kanata, ON; London, ON; Toronto, ON; and Brossard, QC。我們精心選擇這些地點,不僅是為了擴大服務規模,更是為了讓更多的加拿大消費家庭享受到我們的服務。為了支持這一增長,我們將持續投資基礎設施,包括在2024年擴建安省倉庫和中央工廠,這意味著我們將為大統華的發展和未來投資超過6,000萬加幣,這也是我們在加拿大確保領先地位的重要一步。

 

對我們大統華大家庭來說,這還意味著什麼呢?這不僅僅是店數或面積的增長,更意味著我們團隊的擴大。這種擴張為個人和職涯發展帶來了大量機會。我們將創造大量工作崗位,為大家提供在大統華永續發展的機會。

 

這也意味著我們可以將美食之樂傳遞給更多的人。我們所有計劃的核心,就是對顧客的承諾。擁有更多的分店和優秀的團隊,我們才能夠更好、更高效地為顧客服務。我們的目標是持續提供物超所值的優質產品。

勇於承擔,顧客至上


隨著疫情趨緩,DF店廚食部的來客數與銷售持續獲得較高的增長。隨著餐飲業全面復甦,如何抓住機遇,取得競爭優勢,可說是廚食部的挑戰。


幸好我們廚食部全體同事都勇於承擔,努力提高部門的服務質量和業績,特別是壽司部的Grace Lan。Grace每週都參與南卡城華人播道會的禮拜,當她得知教會每周都會向餐廳訂餐後,便積極推薦統華小廚。她更以自己的專業知識向教友耐心地介紹大統華的餐品,從食材到出品,鉅細靡遺。因此,教會從9月開始每週三都固定向大統華的廚食部訂餐。


教會的訂餐都由Grace主動接單及全責跟進,她耐心、專業、細緻入微,精心挑選葷素搭配得當的菜餚,不僅注重口味的獨特性,還注意菜餚的視覺呈現,體現出「我們最新鮮」和「顧客至上」的大統華價值觀。她的態度不僅推動了整個團隊,教會更為此特別致信感謝大統華帶來高質量的食品和服務。耶誕節到了,教會還預訂了價值$4,000的耶誕大餐呢。


謝謝Grace,也期待廚食部繼續發揮合作精神,以高質量的出品和服務征服更多食客的味蕾!

誰說站在光裡的才算英雄


《孤勇者》這首歌讓我想起我們的資產保護員 (APR-Asset Protection Representative)。


2022年9月,保安部更名為資產保護部 (AP),從以前的被動抓偷竊,轉變為主動防範,分店支援中心AP部門的同事開始分析數據,完善我們的標準操作程序,強化各個環節的管控;全體APR成員主動發掘問題,在分店端落實各項工作,從而防範資產保護方面的漏洞。


當中APR這個角色既關鍵又不好當,他們推動誠實正直的公司文化,既要注意外部盜竊,又得防範內部少數意圖不軌的員工。因此在分店裡,面對危險、承受壓力,有時還會被排斥,就像一個孤勇者。但他們始終秉持誠實正直、持守公義的原則,守護公司資產,勇於糾舉不當的行為。



雖然APR像在擔當惡人的角色,但實際上是希望幫助分店。當分店各同仁很努力地為公司帶來盈利時,APR則很努力地防堵漏洞,把盈利守好,不白費同事們的一番辛勞。亦因為這樣,APR漸漸得到分店大部分同事的支持和理解。非常感謝大家對APR的支持。

注意恰當的社交距離


不是所有的工作場所都有足夠大的空間,在狹窄的過道上,或者在狹小的冷庫裡,如果你正在工作,另一名異性員工什麽都不說,就從你旁邊擠過去,並且有輕微的擦碰,是否會讓你覺得不受尊重或不太舒服?


有的同事可能覺得這只是小事,但這樣的事情確實在我們店裡發生,並且引起了員工投訴,其實原本只需要提前問一句「不好意思,能借過一下嗎?」就可以避免發生。看似簡單的問題,卻因為有些同事無所謂或者不拘小節的態度,而造成了工作場所的糾紛。更有甚者,如果經過調查發現是員工故意為之,那就會因爲「騷擾」而受到進一步紀律處分,因此這不是小事。


同事間的相處,請記得要禮貌待人,並注意恰當的社交距離。同事間的矛盾,可能只需要一句友善的問候、事先的徵詢或真誠的道歉,就根本不會發生或者可以儘快化解。下次在狹小的空間,如果需要經過正在工作的同事,請務必提前問一聲能否借過,等別人知道或讓開再過,以避免誤會。這件事情,就是這麽簡單。

Embracing new opportunities in 2024


Dear Team,

 

Happy New Year!

 


The start of a new year is always an exciting time – a chance to reflect, reset, and refocus on our goals. This year, more than ever, is a pivotal moment for our company. I want to take this opportunity to share with you two of our 2024 CEO Goals for the year ahead.

 

1.  Successfully open first store in the US and be ready for more

One of our most significant milestones for 2024 is the opening of our first store in the United States. This is more than just an expansion, this is a testament to the value we bring to customers, and the dedication each of you has put into our brand. The new store, located in Bellevue, Washington, is just the beginning of our journey. Everyone has worked so hard to plan for the first store – setting up the US team, designing the space, and implementing the infrastructure, processes and procedures to ensure our success. This is a chance for us to showcase our unique shopping experience that our Canadian customers love, on a whole new stage.

 

2.  Aggressively capture Canadian market share

Back home, our focus is on serving more customers and spreading our food for joy. This year, we are excited to announce the opening of 4 new stores in the Eastern Region. These locations (Kanata, ON, London, ON, Toronto, ON, and Brossard, QC) have been strategically chosen to not only increase our presence but also to bring what we offer closer to home for more Canadians. To support this growth, we need to continue to invest in infrastructure in Canada, including an expansion of the Ontario warehouse and central commissary in 2024. Together, this represents an investment of over $60MM in our growth and future and is a big step in securing our position as a leading retailer in Canada.

 

What does this mean for our big T&T Family? This growth is not just about store count or square footage; it’s about our people. This expansion brings with it a wealth of opportunities for personal and professional growth. We are looking at substantial job creation, offering all of us a chance to advance our careers with T&T.

 

It also means we can spread our food for joy to more people. At the heart of all our plans is our commitment to our customers. With more stores and talent, we can serve our customers better and more efficiently. Our aim is to continue providing the highest quality products at great value for money.

 

To achieve our 2024 goals, we all need to work together. As we embark on this ambitious and exciting journey, I want to express my deepest gratitude to each one of you. Let’s step into 2024 with a shared vision of growth, excellence, and unparalleled service for our customers.

 

Here’s to a year of new opportunities, challenges, and achievements – together.

Taking on responsibilities and putting customer as no.1


As the pandemic eases, the DF store's Kitchen Department has maintained steady growth in sales and customer visits. Amid the broader recovery of the food and beverage industry, the challenge for the Kitchen Department is to capitalize on opportunities and gain a competitive edge. 


Luckily, our Kitchen colleagues are very accountable, and willing to improve the service quality and sales, especially Grace Lan from the Sushi session. Grace goes to the South Calgary Chinese Evangelical Free Church every week. When she knew the church orders meals from a restaurant weekly, she actively recommended T&T's kitchen. With her professional knowledge, she patiently introduced T&T's dishes, covering from ingredients to presentation. Therefore, the church has been placing regular orders with T&T every Wednesday since September.



Grace proactively follows up on the church's orders. She is patient, professional and meticulous. She selected dishes that balance both meat and vegetarian options with unique flavours and visual presentation, fully embodying T&T's values of "Lead in Fresh" and "Customers is no. 1". Her attitude has not only motivated the entire team, but the church also sent a letter to thank T&T for providing high quality food and service. In Christmas, the church even ordered a Christmas feast worth $4000.


Thanks to Grace! We look forward to the Kitchen Department's ongoing collaborative spirit, captivating more customers through our high quality offerings and service!

Who says only those standing in the light are considered heroes?


The song "Lonely Warrior" reminds me of our Asset Protection Representatives (APR).

In September 2022, the Security Department was renamed Asset Protection (AP), and shifted from a passive theft apprehension approach to proactive prevention. The Store Support Centre AP colleagues began analyzing data to refine our standard operating procedures and strengthening control at various stages. The entire APR team actively identified issues and implemented various tasks to prevent vulnerabilities in asset protection.


The role of an APR is both crucial and challenging. To promote the company's culture of integrity, they have to be vigilant of external theft, while also preventing occurrences of internal misconduct by a small number of employees. Facing danger, pressures and sometimes even ostracized in the store, they are much like lonely warriors. Yet they consistently uphold integrity and justice to protect the company's assets, and bravely report any improper behavior.



While APRs may appear to play the role of an antagonist, but they are in fact helping the store. While each colleague at the store works hard to bring in profits, APRs are working hard to fix any vulnerabilities, and to ensure the profits gained by the efforts of our colleagues are well protected. Thus, APRs have gradually gained the support and understanding from our colleagues. We are grateful for everyone's support towards our APRs.

Be mindful of appropriate social distancing 


Not every workplace offers ample space. Imagine working in a narrow aisle or a tiny freezer, and a colleague of the opposite sex squeezes past you, making light contact without saying a single word when you're working, wouldn’t this lack of communication make you feel disrespected or uncomfortable?


Some colleagues may think of this as a trivial matter, but these incidents do happen at our store and results in complaints. This can all be avoided by simply asking, "Excuse me, may I pass?" A seemingly straightforward issue has escalated into workplace disputes all due to the indifferent or careless attitudes of some colleagues. If an investigation finds the person in question intentionally caused the situation, it can result in further disciplinary actions for harassment, which is no trivial matter.


Please remember to be polite and be mindful of appropriate social distancing. Workplace conflicts may be prevented or resolved quickly with only a friendly greeting, proactive inquiry or sincere apology. Next time you're in a cramped space, if you need to move past a colleague, please ask beforehand, so that they are aware and can move over to avoid any misunderstandings. It's as simple as that.
